HI, Lovely meal and great rum drink. Would you be willing to give me the recipe for the rum-pommegranite drink? Thanks a million. Freda?
Food was good, atmosphere was nice, the waitress was very good. We ordered the 3 tapas and wine special - lobster dip, deep fried rib bites (yummy), calamari(good), also a seafood pizza. This was too much food for 2, the gluten free pita with the dip and the pizza dough were very filling but was crispy. We also had the persecco - the 3 tapas and wine special. The persecco was yummy! The place filled up, we were there at opening on a Friday.
MoreOne of my favourite restaurants! Every meal I’ve eaten here has been fantastic! Very accommodating if wanting substitutions!
MoreA fine vibe and spacious eating area. Genuinely interesting menu. Our Spanish Octopus and the Mussels were solid appetizers. For the 5% of the population with a real gluten problem, the house Faves Pizza is recommended. For the rest, it does not deliver. Not a repeat order.Beers on tap + A hopped cider ++
MoreLove this place. Even if you aren't gluten intolerant, something for everyone! A healthy, hearty choice where it is all homemade!
MoreI really wanted to like this place -- the food is locally sourced for the most part (what they say anyway), and it offers a variety of options for those with dietary constraints. The food though... It was just bland. There was little to no condiment on it, and the components for the sandwich weren't marinated enough. I may try and give this place another go at another point in time, but for now I'll have to skip it. Nosh, if it was still around, blew Leyda's out of the water on flavour.Edit to Respond to Owner: I'm not entirely sure why google won't allow me to respond to the owner comment, unless I'm just blind and can't see it. These images are older images I had lying around and wanted to post, however, I have been to the restaurant within the past month. Thank you anyway.
MoreGreat GF Food!
Best brunch I've had in YEARS. Fresh ingredients, great presentation, ridiculously delicious. Organic eggs, gluten free bread, super boary boar bacon. Perfect meal!
MoreSo I don't always eat healthy, healthy food means no taste. Bread with the texture of a hockey puck. Vegetables that taste like cardboard. But not here at Leydas! I was amazed! The food was so delicious! So much taste and flavour. I can't get over it! So much flavour! The steak looked pan fried instead of flame cooked, which was okay as it had lots of flavour. It was a bit stringy though, cost us $90 for two for supper.
MoreFood was good, and there was plenty of seating. Menu is unique and on the smaller side so keep that in mind. Price is alright for what you get but it isn't the highest value you can get. I would try it again to see if there is something else that I would enjoy more.
MoreGreat service and incredibly delicious food; all without any gluten :)
I was by myself and wanted good quality real food, meat and vegetables and low carb. I'm rarely on Saskatoon and after wandering around a bit and dismissing several options, I found myself on the other side of Midtown, parked and walked. Within 10 feet I got asked for spare change (who carries change anymore?) but no worries, I never feel threatened or insecure with that. Across the street I spotted a restaurant announcing "gluten free / whole food" and something else which I don't remember. I'm in! I was not disappointed. The place had a beautiful open environment and includes a large patio. I chose to sit inside. I ordered coffee, which, to my surprise, was French press. For my light and late lunch I chose calamari which... well I should let the photo tell you, came beautifully presented with a pile of steamed kale, lemon wedge, sesame seeds and a peach? jam with julienned carrots and onions all served on top a plate of black slate. I ate every morsel!Lovely! What a treat!
MoreI really enjoyed this restaurant. My brother is celiac and the menu here is all gluten free. My steak was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.
MoreThe people who work here are super nice and have great recommendations if it’s your first time there. Everything is local and home cooked. The ambiance is pure, they even have the back of the kitchen open for you to see what the chefs are doin. I ordered the bison burger and it was very satisfactory! I Highly recommend giving this place a try if your around Saskatoon! They do a 10$ bison burger Tuesdays. Great place to go for a family dinner!
MoreAs someone with several food allergies, eating out is tricky. Even at a place like Leyda's, which has gluten, dairy, and egg-free items, my meal choices require modification. The server at Leyda's was able and willing to clarify ingredients in the menu items I was interested in, and modify accordingly. I appreciate how she recited back my meal order to ensure she had it correct. The food came in a timely fashion for myself and the two friends I was dining with. I had a burrito bowl with chicken, and I can only describe it as "cozy." Perfect for the crisp wintry day on which we visited. The price point was excellent compared to other restaurants that source locally and use alternative menus. Will definitely be back!
MoreI only stopped in for a cup of soup and the house soup that is available everyday is delicious! Sweet potatoes, kale, quinoa, coconut milk and indian spices are a soul warming blend. I will definitely be stopping in again to sample other delicious looking offerings!
MoreHad the French Toast. Was pretty good, but not very filling. Also got one of their speciality mocktail tonics and it didn't wow for the price
MoreAbsolutely loved Leyda's cafe! Had brunch there on Sunday morning and the menu was amazing, plenty of plant based and organic options, mimosas(which seems a little challenging to find apparently), the presentation is impressive, the staff is very friendly and the vibe of the place is very relaxing and enjoyable. Good prices too. Definitely going back soon!!
MoreFantastic home made food & first class service. Ledya's definitely lives up to it's 5 star reputation. I travelled 7000km for a meal here & would definitely return.
MoreVery yummy and fast service!
Had lunch on their patio with my folks. We got a vegetarian burrito bowl, a bison burger, and salmon tacos. Three really different dishes all done fantastically well. All of the veggies were super fresh, and it was really great to see them snipping the herbs they grow on the patio to add to the dishes. Will definitely be coming back
MoreIt was my first time there. I went with a group of people from my office. The food was good. We had three starter. The pizza was good but the calamari were not very good. The other appetizer , chicken karaagi was so good as well. I had the poke bowl, and it was so fresh and tasty. The salmon was fresh as well. My friends had the fish and chips, the bison burger, the risotto and the power ball. I recommend this place and I think that I will go back to try different things. I should have given a 5 stars, but the calamari were not good.
MoreI would absolutely go back. As someone who is gluten free and walks into most restaurants with fear of contamination, this place was very different. There is a good variety of options and I have to say they have one of the best hamburger buns I have every had!!! The ambiance is great and they are very centrally located. For someone with food sensitivities this is an absolute MUST!!! My only complaint was how greasy the fries were, it didn't seem they were drained prior to serving, but otherwise the fact that everything was completely homemade was impressive
MoreDelicious food, the gluten free menu is a nice touch - even as someone who eats gluten, there's plenty of great options. The poke bowl is delicious. Service has been friendly & quick. My only complaint is that the kitchen is kind of slow - it hasn't been very busy either time we've been there, but it seems to take a while, not great if you're in a hurry.
MoreDelicious gluten-free food that was obviously prepared with care and attention. Not having to ask which menu items are safe is an absolute luxury. It's almost worth going out of your way to Saskatoon just for dinner. Will be back!
MoreGreat spot. Cool little vibe. Great food. Reccomended!!!!!
Pros: light, airy, beautiful space, with cheerful staffCons: expensive, confusing parking, food was a bit soggy and lacked flavour, watery marinara sauce instead of ketchup...kale. Cute, gluten-free restaurant that didn't quite hit the spot for me.
MoreFood was great, I would give it five stars in a different location.
Amazing cup of coffee and the food was great as well 😉❤️
Amazing gluten and corn free options. Beautiful interior and exterior
The food was tasty, plentiful and there were many choices even for someone who doesn't eat gluten free. The service was exceptional and the restaurant a very beautifully designed space in which to enjoy a marvelous meal.
MoreThe lunch menu was very limited and the food looked better than it tasted. All in all, it was Ok but nothing special.
MoreI absolutely love Leydas. The food is always a great Healthy alternative. Their oyster and mussel nights are amazing and their soup is die for. Don't even get me started on the desserts...And the drinks?????... this place blows many other saskatoon hipster establishments out of the water. Seriously... the drinks! The service is also phenomenal... I will continue to bring my favorite people here to enjoy one of my favorite downtown spots. Great job guys!
MoreGreat whole food menu! Feel good after eating there and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Great atmosphere and service too! I go with my sister who is Vegan, she has a lot of choices that always look good. Favourite restaurant in Saskatoon, although I haven’t been to a lot in this city. 🙂
MoreLove this place. Great food and friendly service. They always use local ingredients and innovative spices. Make sure to try the desserts too
MoreFood was great. Light, fresh and tasty, Mediterranean style, great ingredients, nice atmosphere. BUT - My daughter is anaphylactic to all dairy products, nuts and sesame, and I am celiac. Yea, I know, we're fun at parties (and restaurants)! Knowing Leydas has no nuts and gluten free was a large factor in going here. After telling the server about her allergies he wrote it down and said he'd ask his manager and they were very helpful in choosing an appropriate item. However, I was very disappointed and dismayed to find her plate come to the table with parm cheese grated on the salad. We alerted the server and they brought her a new salad. Thank you. This is a serious problem that luckily was caught by us before she ate. I suggest the staff needs some better procedures in place to insure information is relayed to the kitchen and double checked before it goes out to the table. I expected more from them in this regard.
MoreVery happy to find this place in Saskatoon. It wasn't difficult to find a table on a Saturday night. The staff were attentive and the restaurant has a good selection of seasonally inspired dishes. Some great options for vegetarians. I especially liked the ayurvedic soup and the risotto.
MoreEggs benny with salmon. Excellent. Lovely service
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, and the food is top notch!
Came here for a birthday celebration. We have gluten friendly needs and it's refreshing to find so many options on a menu. The service was fantastic and our meals were very good. We'll be back.
MoreThe Bison burger was truly delightful. For a burger to wow me it has to be well made and complimented with fresh toppings and a great bun to bring it all together. This burger was all of those in addition to being complimented by tastey fries and a kale salad. The party was very nicely balanced with flavor/texture. I'll definitely be back. P.S. the service was superb, very knowledgeable and friendly.
